We will soon be releasing a feature for automating SMS messages to clients and in an effort to be more compliant with automated SMS messaging, we have added a few new feature and some new language to the app.

A client can be placed into one of these 3 buckets:

  • Opted In

    • Consented to receive automated SMS communications.

  • Opted Out

    • Declined automated SMS communications.

    • Manual messages may still be sent for urgent business needs.

  • Blocked

    • Blocked all SMS communications.

    • No messages can be sent to this user

For existing clients that have not yet seen this language, if they will be sent an automated SMS (using the upcoming feature), they will receive a message letting them know that they have been opted-in to automated messaging and that they can reply STOP to unsubscribe.

In areas where clients can sign up, they will be presented with this message:

By continuing, you agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You may receive SMS Notifications from us and can opt out any time.

Additionally, if you visit a client's profile, you will see a new "SMS Subscription Management" section, which allows you to view the client's subscription status and can manually update it, it preferred.

If you attempt to send a manual message to a client that has explicitly unsubscribed from messages, you will be presented with this error:
