To access the online booking and custom URLs setup - navigate to Locations -> Click the location you wish to edit -> Go to the "Online Booking & Custom URLs" tab.

Online Booking Configuration

Online booking configuration relates to clients who are entering information for the visit on your behalf. This can be accomplished by either allowing online booking requests, or by sending an online booking link (the recommended option if you are trying to stay in control of your schedule/logsitics).

Allowing Online Booking Requests

Online bookings can be utilizied by:

  1. Creating a custom URL that you then link to a button on your website to "Request an appointment. To create a custom URL:

    1. enter a short code you'd like to append to the URL and check the code to make sure it is available

    2. Optionally, redirect a user to your own confirmation webpage if you'd like (note - this is mainly used if you are using google anayltics conversion tracking)

    3. Save your short code - the code will now appear under "Manage Existing URLs". When clicked, this link will now allow users to view your Veterinarians schedules and request a booking (this is not a confirmed appointment, it would be a pending appointment).

Now that I've created a custom URL, if that URL is clicked, the client will see Veterinarians availability like below..

Client view of availability.

Once the client chooses an available time slot, they can fill out their relevant client information, patient information, answer the custom questions you provide, select a payment method, choose add ons (i.e. urn options etc.), and sign a consent form if necessary.

Editing Your Questions

For all of your client facing links, you can create questions (both required and/or optional) that will be asked. You can apply these questions:

  • All clients, only new clients, or only existing clients

  • All services, or individual services

    • i.e. you may have different questions for a euthanasia visit versus a wellness check, and new cilents vs existing clients

You can also select from different Question Types:

  • Freeorm Text Field (Small box, 1 row)

  • Freeform Text Field (Large box, 3 rows)

  • Dropdown (can only select one)

  • Yes or no

  • Checkboxes (can select multiple)

  • Radio Buttons (can only select 1)

Once these questions are set, clients will be asked them when filling out online booking requests and online booking links:

If you or a team member are manually creating an appointment in SimpleDVM (By clicking on an available time slot), the internal user will also be asked to answer the same questions. See below:
